Dusky Rose
Compared to other roses I've painted, this one I gave moodier tones, using mauve, burgundy, coral, and smoky violet to create a rich, shadowed center. I let several wet washes flow together before defining selected petal edges with pencil and a narrow brush. The result feels both delicate and dramatic, like a rose caught at that brief moment when evening light makes every color deeper.
