Turmeric
This is turmeric, sometimes known as yellow ginger. Chock full of healthy orange curcumin. I love to use this nutritious superfood in all kinds of cooking. Usually this spice is a powder where I'm from, so it can be hard to find the ingredient fresh in root form, but I often see it in Asian grocery stores.
