Red Rigi
For my exhibition I wanted to paint watercolours that look as bright and vivid as oils - so who better than to turn to the man who attained that so long ago - JMW Turner.
Although not up to his original standard (come on - the man's a genius!) I was so pleased with the jewel like effects I achieved that I decided to leave well enough alone and left out Turner's detailed foreground altogether.
This 18" x 14" watercolour was painted on Saunders Waterford 140lb NOT surface with Windson & Newton artists paints.
