    The Reed Wren
The Reed Wren (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) is a small passerine bird that is native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. It is also known as the Marsh Wren or the Eurasian Reed Warbler. The Reed Wren is brownish in color with a lighter underbelly and a long, thin beak. It typically lives in dense reed beds and other wetland habitats, where it feeds on insects and spiders. During the breeding season, male Reed Wrens sing a distinctive, elaborate song that can last up to 5 minutes and is used to attract a mate and defend their territory. The female Reed Wren builds a deep, cup-shaped nest made of grass and other plant materials, usually in the dense vegetation of a reed bed. The Reed Wren is a migratory bird, spending the breeding season in Europe, and wintering in Africa. It is considered to be a species of Least Concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), although habitat loss and degradation in some parts of its range are threats to its population.
