The flowers of an Aloe striata or Coral Aloe in our garden at Jansenville in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.

The Coral Aloe or Aloe striata is a stemless South African Aloe with blue green leaves which lack the spines common on most Aloes and instead have a smooth attractive pinkish margin without any teeth. Attractive orange-red coral flowers are borne during the winter months. It is found in rocky areas and hills in sandy soil and semi-arid areas in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and the Northern Cape of South Africa.
