Silver Spring
In the following works I was dealing with the subject of time. I believe it is represented most importantly by seasons. For thousands of years we measured time based on seasonal changes. After the birth of civilization we began to measure time based on our new dependence on agriculture. The works are titled with some of the most common food crops, and further expanding to cash crops. Also commenting on the rise of conflict especially how the trade for tea caused the Opium Wars in China, and became a revolutionary symbol of the king. We then expand our knowledge of time to the heavens and monitor the stars to situate our existence. Thus revealing our beginnings and our demise. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
