This poster looks at five different types of STEM career available in the jewellery industry: The Explorer, who finds precious metals and gems; The Processor, who extracts and purifies them; The Materials Scientist, who studies how stones and metals behave; The Quality Controller, who tests gems and precious metals for purity; and The Gemmologist who studies and certifies gems. The aim is to show students that there is much more to STEM than meets the eye, and that they can find STEM careers in unexpected places.
