    Rustic Rural Ruin
Every picture tells a story, this one has it's own. Noticing this 'in need of care' house near the road, I pulled up and had a look - was it possible to get a capture of it. Deciding it was, I considered entering the yard next to it, dilapidated buildings, and a couple of caravans obviously occupied, but seeing the rather large canines roaming the yard barking their heads off, decided perhaps not! No sign of other life, so I thought give it a go. Parked the car on the other side of the road, and walked across with camera and tripod, set it up and was about to do the first shot, when a voice yelled out - 'what are you doing?' Didn't feel I needed to explain the realities and techniques of what the equipment did, just replied asking was it okay to get some photos of the old house - 'As long as you don't cause me any trouble' was the reply so I proceeded - not fully understanding what 'trouble' I might have caused standing on the side of the road. Having finished the photos I was back at the car packing up when a car roared out of the premises beside the house, skidded to a stop beside me and again 'what are you doing' - given the size of the occupant I demured and stated just took a few photos of the old building. 'Oh, are you a tree lover?' was the reply, again not wishing to engage in a debate about nature etcetera just replied again taking photos. He then noted that he'd seen the 'old man' talk to me, but as he didn't like walking had decided to drive to see what was going on - the 'drive' all of a hundred metres or so. We parted on good terms, even being informed that the 'old man' had found a 1930's Newspaper in the building, but it still leaves the concern as to what and why. It wasn't until processing the images that I noticed a bright red light in one of the front windows - speculation? Nikon D7k. Ganmain region, Riverina, NSW, Australia. F36, 1/2sec, ISO 100, 105mm.
