View Larger on Chockstone Photography Not far from Traralgon you will find the township of Tyers, and beyond the foothills of the Latrobe Valley where farmland gives way to the forests of Tyers Park. Here a gorge can be found, carved out by the Tyers River over thousands of years, carpeted with silver gums, and presided over by Peregrine Falcons. Petersons Lookout, from which this view was obtained, is barely 500m from the car park if you vehicle can handle the terrain, so potentially within reach of most, though it is a little steep. If you need to walk in from the Tyres - Walhalla Road then you will be up for more distance, about 3.7kms in and out.
