View Larger on Chockstone Photography The first light of dawn pierces a lingering mist, highlighting the frost laden grass of a secluded valley, to alight upon the aged timbers of Oldfields Hut in the far northern end of Kosciuszko National Park. Built in 1925, the hut sits near the source of the Goodradigbee River. The remains of a vegetable patch and nearby stockyards can still be seen, evidence of a life once lived in the high country plains. Wild horses abound in this area, their whinnies and neighs echoing across the crisp morning air.
