Dinner Plain Hut, Dinner Plain, Victoria, Australia. On an early spring tour of Mount Buffalo and Mount Hotham with good friend and fellow photographer Chris Munn, Chris took me to view my first "High Country Hut". Favourites of landscape photographers from all over the country, the huts have a rich history in the building of our nation, especially in regards to cattle herding, horse mustering and infrastructure projects. Dinner Plain Hut is located just off the main road, so is literally just "off the beaten track". The sunlight was blazing, so we headed inside to see how the hut was weathering. These huts are frequented by campers, and some had unfortunately left graffiti on the walls. When we came back outside, the clouds had come in and given the place a softer feel, so out came the camera... I'd definitely love to visit this area again in the winter with the snow on the ground.
