Mohawk In Summer Shade
Mohawk falls was the first waterfall that I photographed during my recent visit to Ricketts Glen. This is the initial landmark that most visitors will see as they descend the Ganoga Glen Trail from the top of the gorge. The sun was shining very brightly, providing strong back-lighting for the falls that were shaded by the thick June canopy overhead. Please click on the image to see the Larger View This photograph was captured on June 20th, 2014, during a solo trek through Ricketts Glen State Park. It was taken with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS 5D DSLR body. The aperture was set to f/16 with a shutter speed of 2.0 seconds, at the 29mm focal length. The ISO was set to 100. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod and a remote shutter release cable was used. Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is the village of Red Rock, PA, between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA. © 2014 Gene Walls All copyright and reproduction rights are retained by the artist.
