View Larger on Chockstone Photography The country town of Tallangatta resides on the edge of Lake Hume, only a short drive from Albury/Wodonga. Originally founded in the 1870s the town was moved eight kilometres to the west during the 1950’s to allow for the expansion of the lake. As well as the usual boating and fishing opportunities Tallangatta is home to some great bike rides. For those with sufficient pedal power, there is the Lake Hume Loop trail. At over 100kms it will certainly tax you. Alternatively there is 44 kms of High Country Rail Trail which hugs the shoreline of Lake Hume. Having driven through this region countless times on my way into the mountains beyond I was always on the lookout for photographic potential. After a few dawn attempts this scene presented itself and I was overjoyed to witness swirling fog and direct golden light dance across the landscape.
