View Larger on Chockstone Photography Koolewong is a sleepy little seaside town only an hour or so north of Sydney. It overlooks a bay called Brisbane Water that has a very tranquil feel early in morning. On this occasion I’d slept in the car beside the water’s edge so as to be in position for the dawn, and jumped out excitedly after discovering both zero wind (and therefore perfect reflections) and nice cloud cover just as the darkness lifted. However as the sun rose so did the fisherman intent on launching from my position. Several times I had to wait for calm to return whilst the sun and teased me with its colourful display. Only a hop, skip and a jump from Koolewong you’ll find Woy Woy, and all the usual shops and familiar food outlets.
