Featured 9/29/14 in Science, Fringe Science, and the Unexplained On a distant manufacturing asteroid, an unmanned, fully automated factory produces hyperdrive engines in mass quantities. With no atmosphere to be damaged, or life forms to threaten, any number of toxic gases and lethal metal compounds can be employed in the construction and mining processes, as long as the finished goods are sanitized before automated shipment. Few had predicted that this would prove to be the most important advantage of utilizing uninhabited locations, far beyond the value of any raw materials found there, or the ability to move large pieces of equipment with minimal energy in near zero gravity. Of course, the ability of large corporations to own an entire such asteroid and manufacture without regulations or taxes or payrolls was also beneficial to their profit margins. Created in Mandelbulb3D v.1.8.9 starting with parameters from Toggle by Undead-Academy (see below). Additional work done in GIMP v.2.8.
