Frys Hut, Howqua Hills, Mansfield, Victoria
Australian Landscape Photography by Michael Boniwell. All images copyright. This is a tack sharp 93 megapixel image, suitable for enormous enlargements. View Larger on Chockstone Photography Dating back to the late 1930’s Frys Hut is nestled beside the Howqua River in the “Howqua Hills” not far from Mansfield and Mt Bulla. Fred Fry's life in the Howqua Valley was the basis of Neville Shute's 1950 novel ‘The Far Country’. Nearby Sheepyard Flat is popular with horse riders and those who enjoy bush camping. Shot at dawn with the morning mist rising up through the pale gums, this scene captures the peace and tranquillity of the area.
