Execution Day
A mixed media piece, this artwork was made with a Prismacolor Premier Brush Tip Marker, Prismacolor Colored Pencils, Crayola Colored Pencils (that are no longer sold), a RoseArt Warm Grey Colored Pencil (a version that is no longer sold) and Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended. I was inspired by the movie series, "The Purge" for this piece. I thought instead of killing random people who may be innocent, what if there was a day every year where all the worst people (deemed by society) and convicted criminals, all be slain and done away with? People can vote in and/or on who should be executed (even if they haven't gone to trial and been convicted) based on the person's character or personality. This is why the artwork is called "Execution Day." The girl featured here is the executioner and all the people who die on Execution Day are executed PUBLICLY. By the way, her dress is made from human skin.
