Dolerite Rocks

Had a great time in Tassie with Donovan but as is so often the case when exploring new areas it really felt like a reconnaissance trip. Didn't really get the light I was after and/ or was not in the right place at the right time to take advantage of it when it did happen (like the dawn of this perfect day although I got up at 5:30am I was still below the tree line when the best light was happening). I was also held back a bit by critical gear failures, backpack harness broke, torch died and tent leaked so instead of heading up here the night before, I was in Pine Valley Hut trying to dry my gear next to a pot belly. Next time I reckon I could spend a day or two (weather permitting) just exploring The Acroplis' rugged plateau. With a rope you could certainly get to some amazing spots. Still had an amazing trip experiencing all four seasons in as many days, snow, sunshine, rain and hail, and it was great getting to know Don a bit better too.
