Crunch !!
Fast Focus............. On Saturday the 24th of September at 43 I did a first, I went to my first Motor Rally. I went to the Trackrod Rally held at Dalby Forrest near Scarborough. I had the best days company I could have asked for, my big bro Mike , a great bloke Col Carter and a very funny bloke from Hartlepool Dave Philip's. I have not laughed so much in a very long time !! What did I think? Well to be honest it was all "feast & famine". We got there at daft O'Clock in the morning thanks to Col being a vampire. There were five stages during the day, the first one kicked off around the 8 O'Clock mark and I have to admit it was fast & furious, high octane adrenaline for total petrol heads. The pace was frightening and those drivers are either mad or had their fear glands removed. So it was 15 mins of noise and excitement, the pace car came through and I was told that was it for that time trial, "whens the next one start?" I asked rather naively. Two hours was the answer !! Yes two bloody boring firggin hours later !! And that was repeated after all the time trials !! It is exciting and great fun, but I'm not sure I could stand the waiting about. Like I said this was the first time I had photographed a rally and you learn quick cos the buggers dont hang about to pose ! Luckily I had some very experienced chaps with me to offer suggestions, often as not the suggestions were not related to any form of photography ! All in all I had a great day out and it was a new challenge. Not sure if I'd do it again mind ? Ford Focus WRC Driven by Charlie Payne Co Driver Craig Thornley Class B4 These guys took a tumble and took half the Forrest around the course with them ! Nikon D300 Sigma 70-200 @ F4
