Compassion

This is another one of the flowers from my show and poems for her. Crime rate is up then the crime rate is down, young children shooting one another an where are the parents? Children living in homes with one parent who's at work and no guidance except other lost children!! Its a sad fact the birth rate is climbing and single parents are on the rise too! Uneducated children having children! And the cycle go's on and on and on! So this flower as soon as I saw it represented two things one a funeral flower and a flower with so many pockets that reminded me of the different choices some have in life. All of us have choices but for some the way is a lot more clouded but if we look deeply we can find it! So this is what this poem is about the struggle and the hope that we will realize its up to us to be better people and care about our future! As I sit and watch the news tonight it scares me have to death! with so many children lost and dying on our city streets! They seem to be out of control shooting everyone! What's going on in this land where kids need so much violence? Back in my day a fist fight was way too much violence. And then came knives and soon enough kids had AK47's! Who ever thought it would turn to this and be a battle field out there? Coming home from school or church with bullets in the air. Afraid to send our children out to by a quart of milk. I wonder who's the brilliant one selling them the guns! I bet he doesn't have a son who's died from one of his death toys! Where can we go what can we do to help solve this epidemic! When children as young as five are shooting their own brothers and baby sisters? It hurts my heart to see this flashing every night on TV. Its as if we lost our children to a world of cops and robbers! And the only one who I can turn to seems to have other problems? I think he's trying to tell us this.... we need to make this right! Those are our children running the streets maybe killing us tonight!
