'Breaking Through'
Pastel on Mi Teinte 'Tex' paper (burgundy) - 55cm x 35cm This is the Tarcombe area of Northern Victoria where we spent some time camping awhile ago. I finished it this afternoon (4/4/12). The old stock track and the old fence made a great foreground. I enjoyed the challenge of a foreground in shadow with a shaft of sunlight breaking through the clouds onto the hills. It does not give as good an impression of this effect in the photo as it does in the original painting. Grrr! I thought the title could apply to both the sunlight and the fence!!!
