Conestoga Falls "don't get no respect", as Rodney Dangerfield might have said. This is a frequently missed waterfall along the Ganoga Glen Trail in Ricketts Glen State Park. Conestoga is a relatively elusive landmark. The terrain around the site makes it very difficult to find a shooting position that allows you to capture the entire waterfall in a single shot. Fortunately, there is an official park placard on the cliff above the falls that confirms the correct location of this small waterfall on Kitchen Creek. This photograph shows the top section of Conestoga Falls, where the high water was splashing wildly. This photograph was captured on Tuesday, October 18th, 2011, during a solo hike through the Glen. It was shot using Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, mounted on a Canon EOS 30D DSLR body. The aperture was set to f/5 with a shutter speed of 1/5th of a second, at the 17mm focal length. The camera’s ISO setting was set to 125. Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA. © 2011 Gene Walls All copyright and reproduction rights are retained by the artist.
