Amanda Races - Final Words

Final words before the race is run. One of the things I love about attending and shooting the Junior Dragster events is the sense of family that permeates each event. The racing "teams" are generally families where parents and siblings attend and participate as drivers and/or crew. This sense of family extends between teams and they each help the others keep the cars running, and share in the victories of their competitors. It is good to see such a sense of sportsmanship still alive and well. I take mostly pictures of the cars and the drivers prepping for each race. But every now and again I capture this family bond. As with this moment between father and daughter before she raced. Think about how you would feel with your child about to tear down a track, 4 inches off the ground, in an alcohol-powered half-scale dragster.
