Title excerpt from ConeyIslandBaby, by Tom Waits* Overview the Atlantic Ocean, Coney Island Beach and some of the Amusement Park, 2009.. To extreme left is part of the world famous CYCLONE roller coaste; while straight ahead is the gyro tower called the Astrotower which once lifted people many stories above ground while circling around, giving a 360 degree view of Coney and the surrounding areas. To the right, you'll see the WONDER WHEEL, with its collection of sliding and stationary steel enclosed mesh cages (known as gondolas if I remember correctly)(cages not shown here).. The swinging cages 'treats"you to the 'thrill' of crashing nearly off the track over the street several stories below and then sliding back to safety. Not at all for the skiddish or those who have just eaten. There is slightly more to Coney that was not captured in this picture. Imss Imss
