View Larger on Chockstone Photography Mount Beauty is a small country town nestled beside the Kiewa River and below the imposing snow-capped peak of Mount Bogong (a cracker of a hike for those fit enough to take on its gradient). It’s a conveniently short drive from the popular Falls Creek ski village, and as such receives many visitors during the winter season. The place also looks great in the autumn months with fall foliage everywhere. If you drive over from Bright or Harrietville you’ll likely encounter the view pictured here, with the whole Kiewa Valley opened out before you and Mt Bogong towering above. At dawn, the sun comes straight into the camera, making for a dramatic scene.
