Easter Delight
My Gran always used to make Simnel Cake at Easter. Unfortunately I didn't make this one! The cup is a pretty cup made by Paragon China dating from the 1930s, pattern `Smiling June'. I can't quite understand why the maker called it `Smiling June' as the cup has a basket of primroses inside which are in bloom at Easter time and not in June! Maybe the artist was in love with a lady called June.That's artisitic licence for you! It's a pretty little cup with the pattern inside rather then on the outside.
I bought the vase and silver plated fork in an antiques centre in Wallingford.
I used Winsor and Newton Winsor Yellow, Rose Madder and Winsor Blue (Green Shade) on Saunders Waterford NOT 200lb
