American Radiator Building
I had to travel to Bryant Park around 42nd Street today and while the weather threatened rain I took the camera along anyway and shot this on a lark expecting to play with what was a pallid background sky using a Photoshop edit. This however is certainly less impressive than some of the background manipulations done by Peter Hill, but it makes a nice observation of New York architecture when compared to some of my other architectural studies and especially the next example.
That is to say I construe this as part of the cities temple of industry period while the bulk of what is being seen as representing the state of New York architectural art lately is grid on grids of plastic mirrors or perhaps given the popular disgust with the market a pun on smoke and mirrors.
