View Larger on Chockstone Photography Upper Gledhill Falls is formed by McCarrs Creek in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park not far from Palm Beach north of Sydney. It is a delightful little oasis popular with locals as a swimming hole. Expect to be sharing the place with large groups despite the almost complete lack of parking and rock scramble access. The water is an amazing green hue, which complements the surrounding foliage and rocks making it appear like some kind of tropical paradise, even though a busy road is only metres away. In my opinion the best time to visit is very early in the morning or late in the evening when other people will typically be absent, restoring the magic and tranquility.
