Evelyn Nesbitt was the world´s first supermodel, modeling for many of the most famous artists and photographers of her day, becoming known as the Gibson Girl and appearing in numerous advertisements. Her youth and beauty coupled with a mother incapable of properly protecting her, made her easy prey to the likes of rich and powerful men such as Stanford White and Henry K. Thaw. A survivor, she continued on to a career on the stage and book writing.
