View Larger on Chockstone Photography The North Rams Head region of Kosciuszko National Park has a number of impressive granite rock formations. One of these has become quite popular with landscape photographers due to the delightful small pool below it which can cast a wonderfully clear reflection if there is no wind. This was my third attempt at capturing this scene. This time I camped out on the mountain and shot both sunset and dawn. Some clouds did eventually appear in the morning, but by that stage wind had ruined the reflection so instead I chose this image from the evening session, mainly for the clarity of the pool. The sunset glow also produced a lovely blue-orange colour contrast. Being opposites on the colour wheel the two hues sit well with one another. Looking at this image I can really feel the still, crispness of the air as I stood, all alone atop the alpine hills.
