This is Amsterdam Entrepotdok - Old storehouses, renovated into modern apartment buildings - (These photo's are actually taken from Artis Amsterdam Zoo, to the other side of the river:) "The area east of the Plantage was the stomping grounds of the VOC, aka the Dutch East India Company, who grew rich on sea trade in the 17th century.
