Australian Landscape Photography by Michael Boniwell. All images copyright. This is image is suitable for enormous prints. View Larger on Chockstone Photography Agnes Falls resides in Victoria’s scenic Gippsland region, within the Strzelecki Ranges, not far from the village of Welshpool. At 59 metres, the falls are the highest single span falls in Victoria. Agnes Falls Scenic Reserve offers the usual facilities and a quiet place to relax beside the Agnes river. The walk to the falls could not be easier, being less than 200 metres. Staying in the area for a couple of weeks I was able to visit the falls several times before conditions were favourable for a photograph. The near constant rain actually proved useful, soaking the foliage and giving it a lush, verdant look. However the wind was an issue. Whipped up by the shape of the gorge the gusts swirled around, pushing the trees in all directions. Eventually, after reshooting it many times, it all came together and I was rewarded with the sharp, detailed image I needed. Wonderful location! Well worth the trip. If you’re in the area, also check out nearby Welshpool long jetty which, if you can brave the gales, offers a great view and a unique experience.
