The Rio Yanuncay In Cuenca
The Yanuncay River runs through the city of Cuenca and is the second most important of the four rivers that cross it. The river emanates south of the Cajas National Park, on the moors of Angas at an altitude of 4000m, and passes through the southern part of the city. During its passage through the city of Cuenca, the Tarqui River joins the Yanuncay River, near the streets Francisco Moscoso and 24 de Mayo. The joined rivers flow into the Tomebamba river at the Parque Paraiso, then the Machángara river joins in further downstream. The combined rivers eventually become the Paute River which joins onto the Amazon River and then flows into the Atlantic Ocean. This digitally altered artwork is derived from a photograph taken May 3/15 in Cuenca, Ecuador, South America nestled in the Andes Mountains.
