Silver Princess
The Australian eucalypt, Eucalyptus Caesia is more commonly known as Silver Princess due to the silver grey colur of the bark and the silvery powder that forms on the flower buds. It can be found naturally in the central wheat region of Western Australia but this particular one grew in my backyard. Eucalypts are another popular source of nectar for many of the birds native to Australia and this one has seen many a feathered visitor over the years. Sadly the tree is no more and this is the only image I have left to remind me of its beauty.
