210mm x 260mm Collage on card 2014 Artists can quite often be their own harshest critics, and perhaps I was being harsh with my initial impressions of this work. Actually, harsh is probably not the right word. I was more dismissive of this piece when I first completed it. But perhaps I was looking at it in the wrong way. I think I was looking for the work to excite me, wanting it to push me on and give me new ideas to take on to the next piece. And it didn't do that. But now, several months later, coming back and looking at it again has given me a different perspective on it. No, it is not exciting. In fact it is the opposite, almost calming. The way the blues and the reds sit together really make this piece work well. Website
