Putting on the Ritz
Saturday, Feb. 5th started out with a few inches of ice... businesses did not open at their normal times, people did not venture out of their homes for fear of all sorts of disasters that might be awaiting them if they tried to manuveor out onto the icy streets and sidewalks! But a little shop in Stowe, Pennsylvania was open... a beauty shop owned by a dear and wonderful friend of mine. It was in that beauty shop on that very dreary and dismal day that I was transformed and ready to start putting on the ritz because I was going to a very posh event with a very fine and handsome escort! I had the long black dress with the beaded shoulders. Got the black shoes with the 3 inch heels and a strip of pewter satin ribbon across the front. I chose the pearl necklace and pearl earrings and the tiny satin clutch purse. The day before I had gotten a pedicure and manicure... french nails with a white and silver floral design on the nails of each ring finger. Oh yes... I was putting on the ritz!!! A few days before I had the beauty consultant at the dermatology office where I work part time in the evenings give me a procedure to remove the dead skin to give my face a clear and glowing complexion. Ritz, I say! Yes, I was PUTTING ON THE RITZ! BUT... after all this preparation and all this muss and fuss... through all the ice and the rain that followed... when I arrived at my escorts door and he walked outside to meet me.... WELL!!! He looked goooooood... and he wasn't even trying to put on the ritz! I am such a lucky girl :) Judi
