Advertising is weird. Fancy pictures and snappy text can make us think ourselves inadequate. Ads make us work against our own bodies and minds in a quest to improve ourselves, to force ourselves to live up to standards imposed on us by brands.
Street flyers are not like this. They are to the point, direct. There’s no fluffing around with rhetorical questions and two-for-one sales. I much prefer these.
I’ve made these images, these imaginary flyers to poke fun at advertising and the destructive standards our culture creates. I hope you find them as funny as I do (you probably won’t — I think I’m hilarious).
