Giant Bindweed (Calystegia silvatica)
This creeping plant can be found in hedgerows all over the island. It can be easily recognised by its large white flowers.
Its Manx name is "lus y lheaney", which means "plant of spreading"; a reference to its ability to spread quickly over a large area.
This flower has the nickname "Granny pop out of bed" because of the way the flower will pop out when its base is squeezed.
