Fairhaven
Fairhaven is a wonderful beach that back when I used to go, was fairly unspoilt – the town backed up abruptly to wild tea tree covered hills. On the beach, I got caught in a rip and swept out to sea. With no shore in sight and every wave that dumped me, I thought this would be a stupid way to die. Obviously, I made it back...exhausted. But the place left an indelible mark on me of beauty and terror.
