Contempt © Vicki Ferrari Photography = Lead pencil sketch on black paper then scanned and then (very!) over processed in photoshop! But it was fun! But wait, there's more!! (Australian TV ad, and no, it isn't a set of steak knives!!) Now this next bit takes a bit of a push to write but I am going to anyway! And I would love to learn more about this particular phenomena, if you would like to comment! And here goes.... the bottom line here is that this work is about anger and contempt. Anger at being taken advantage of by internet stalkers and habitual liers who don't care who they hurt.... and the contempt we feel for those that prey upon the innocent - and the punishment that we feel we must wreak upon ourselves for being so trusting and so gullible. And then there is the realisation that we need to take responsibility for ourselves. And then comes the knowing... that what goes around comes around, and we can let go because we know it is not up to us to punish someone for their actions (If we do that, we are only really punishing ourselves) they will be punishing themselves, courtesy of karma and the ten times rule..... it is sad but apparently it happens all the time, to many people. I think it is very important that we be true to ourselves, and treat ourselves accordingly. And it is so very important to love ourselves for if we can't do that, then how can we ever know how to love someone else? And life is meant to be about love and loving life, yes? I suppose if we stand long enough in shit, we grow stronger!! Not so good to have it chucked on you though, but at least this is one time when "gravity sucks" is really good - it falls off us eventually!
