Spanish Coat of Arms at the Castillo de San Marcos 3D Version
This Coat of Arms is a colorized depiction of the one found at the entrance to the Castillo de San Marcos (Castle of Saint Mark) in St. Augustine Florida. The castles on the shield represent the Arms of Castile, and the rampant lion represents the Arms of Leon. The grand cordon of the Golden Fleece that surrounds the shield is a chain of alternating steels and flints, striking fire, with the Golden Fleece suspended below.
This year St. Augustine celebrates its 450th Anniversary. The city was founded by Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles on September 8th, 1565, and it is the oldest city in the United States.
