Pittsburg
In 1890, the United States Board of Geographic Names charged that all cities ending in ‘burgh’ must drop the ‘h’ in the spirit of uniformity. Pittsburgh didn't like that. After twenty years of rebellion we finally got our 'h' back in 1911, and now remain the only such city in the country. From the Whiskey Rebellion to the H Rebellion, you can take your uniformity and stick it.
