    Roundism – 27-04-20
Solarized The next drawing in my solarized roundism series. Certainly does it form a transition from my previous abstracted cubist geometry towards a crossover of realism and surrealism. Like in the previous one Clara 24-04-20 I inverted some of the tonal values whereas in other parts they are kept realistic. The overall body shape is according to my roundism principles. That style obviously was the first weapon of choice and the combination with solarization came naturally. The result is a kind of oily feel caused by a careful selection of harsh tonal transitions combining with very soft ones. I like the appearance of her and the tonal harmony of the shees around her altogether. Grease her up! The model is my regular model of Indian descendance. Her body is perfect for smooth tonal transitions. In the past I asked her to oil her body in order to get fantastic hues shimmering all over her body, fragmentated and scattered by the oil. It works out well with regard to the shift in tonal values. However, I did not use oil this time but I fell back to pictures of photo shoots in the past. They were perfectly well for the purpose and enhancement of the solarisation. The Creative Process Makes me want to do more and perhaps I will in the next future. Then again, creativity and inventing stuff is like swimming in merky and streaming waters. You never know where you might end up. One could be set adrift in peril or stranded ashore. The latter would bring a creator safety for a while but boredom in the long run. Consequently, both entail life and death. Graphite pencil drawing (Sakura 0.5 mm, 3B) on Canson Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) - A4 format) Artist: Corné Akkers
