Australian Landscape Photography by Michael Boniwell. All images copyright. This is a tack sharp 112 megapixel image, suitable for enormous enlargements. View Larger on Chockstone Photography Mount Bishop is a moderate walk of about 7km (return) near the ever popular Tidal River camp ground in Victoria's Wilsons Promontory. It offers amazing views back towards the coast as well as some nice forest charm on the trek up. If you're enjoying the trees there's the option to extend the trail along the Lilly Pilly Gully Nature Walk. There's sometimes a debate about which is the nicer hike, Mount Bishop or Mount Oberon if you only have time for one. They are very similar in terms of distance and difficulty and they both offer great views. The only real differences are that Mount Oberon requires catching a shuttle bus to the car park, whilst Mount Bishop can be accessed via a short drive or walk from Tidal River. On the other hand, Oberon also has more room at summit for picnics. They are both very popular during peak seasons. This image was captured just before the sun set. A few seconds later the low cloud that served to create atmosphere and drama in this photograph, rolled over the mountain completely obscuring the view.
