When In Rome
The amazing Roman Baths in the ancient city of Bath, Somerset, UK, are visited by around 1 million tourists a year. You can wander the building and learn about its history, but you cannot enter the water. The Romans began building the complex in around 60-70 AD and continued building it up for the next 300 years. The water has its source in the nearby Mendip Hills and is heated by a natural process as it seeps through the limestone. Legend has it that before the Romans, there were baths in this spot going back to the ninth century.
This is my own photo to which I have added various effects to give a painterly feel.
