Neatly Twisted
This is one of the many ropes ready to go back on to the Alma Doepel, a sailing ship currently under restoration at Victoria Dock, Melbourne, Australia. I asked the difference between the two types of weave I noticed and the answer was flexibility. The plaited weave was easier to manipulate than the twisted one. So there you go, you learn sumthin' new everyday. So this is now the 4th pic I have uploaded taken at the Alma Doepel and they have all been of rope! I am detecting a theme :) Nikon D5000 with Nikkor AF-S 60mm micro lens
