First Work
When I was a kid, I never knew or learned how to believe in myself. I knew how to be a good friend and support others but never myself. So I spent my whole life kind of ignoring that I was an artist and very into expressing myself visually. I was an incredibly depressed young adult pretty much at the point of finding a way to kill myself. When, what I understand as a random occurrence: my Dad gets me an iPad and my life changes forever. I don't know why but something in myself told me that this was my last chance to really believe in myself. That night I made the first black and white version of this drawing.
Some adventures are worth it and this one surely was.
Looking back, the deep sea fish is kind of like the impending death of my dreams. Just as it was about to clamp down and tear me apart. I took a snapshot and froze time. Giving me one last chance to make it right. Talk it out 'till daylight.
