    Drying Off
On a recent visit to Oxley Creek Common (in Brisbane, Australia), the skies opened up and I found myself having to take cover under some trees to keep relatively dry. When the rain eased up, I decided to take one last look around the car park before leaving, and spotted a Pacific Baza (otherwise known as a "Crested Hawk" - Aviceda subcristata) in a tree some 10m or so away drying off. I found a spot with clear line of sight and was about to start shooting, when another Baza flew in and landed in the tree right above my head, almost within arms' reach (well, if I was a professional basketball player maybe). It didn;t seem concerned with my presence, and spread its tail and wings into this beautiful pose in an attempt to dry itself out (I'm assuming). I normally don't like shooting upwards at birds, but in this case, I made an exception!
