    Alice/Ruth
Alice Lowe's horror film, Prevenge, presents a feminist narrative that challenges societal norms around motherhood, taps into primal themes in ways that are both familiar and subversive. The film's exploration of the darker side of creation and motherhood and the the body horror associated with pregnancy and birth, subverting the dominant (patriarchal) narrative as purely positive experiences, resonated with me. This image is a take on one of the most striking moments in the film.
