Victorians
For this neighborhood portrait, I placed the quiet Victorian homes in the foreground and allowed downtown San Francisco to rise gently behind them. Using careful linework around the gables, bay windows, and chimneys, I then loosened my brushwork considerably for the trees and distant buildings. The muted greens, grays, and warm window tones were chosen to suggest one of those mild afternoons when the city feels both intimate and surprisingly grand.
